We're back!

So where are we with wedding plans? Dare to ask?

We're close to booking a venue!  This weekend was quite the weekend.  We almost attended a wake, almost crashed a wedding and almost walked in on a baptism!  All for sake of the wedding!   Who needs appointments! When we gotta see a venue ... we gotta see it.  The next time we'll dress the part, sip on a few cocktails, crack a few jokes and really test out the service! Who said planning a wedding wasn't fun!

Back at it!!

I'm back at it! Still searching for the perfect dress! As I rush out to my dress appointment today pat kindly stops me and says in the most loving voice "Jenn don't buy a dress today ..... " (me: looking confused) 

" because you might change your mind ..again". Lol how did he know? I absolutely loved this Mori Lee mermaid style dress in the store but by the time I got home .. The love faded.  Gorgeous dress but just not mine ! The search continues :) Until next time

Saying Yes to the dress

So I did it ... I said "yes" to a dress online 3 months ago. A beautiful custom made dress is being shipped Monday to me  and I am having second thoughts! I think I said yes too soon! 

So last night during an episode of Say Yes to the Dress I attempted to tell Pat my discovery.  Well, to make a long story short ... It did not go over well! According to Pat Say Yes to the Dress is make belief- dresses don't cost that much! Lol

Hell no!

 I refuse to spend $400 on invitations! |I guess i have been living in a hole or something as i do not recall stationary being so expensive!  Seriously!

Instead of paying $38 for a pdf file or $400 for a set of 50 invites i channeled my penny pinching goddess and decided to re-create them myself.  Yes , knock off invitations.  I believe i am starting a new trend!  Your welcome fellow brides.  I am saving you tons of money!

So i'll let you be the judge.  Here is the inspiration!

8 months to go and ...

... I haven't done much!  If you haven't heard from us in a while we're not cutting you out ... we're not ignoring you or withholding information!  We just have nothing new to share.  I can't believe it!  I'm lagging behind a little.  My back has really put halt on things. It's really hard to plan a wedding when you can't sit and I have yet to master how to ignore the throbbing pain.  So if you have any tips please do share as I am at the end of my rope!

One good thing we can check off is the colour scheme.  We have been going back and forth and now back again! It is now official ... grey & yellow are our colours! My bridesmaid will wear yellow and the boys will wear grey! Beautiful !!

2 hearts 1 promise explained!

People usually stop and ask about the band i wear with my engagement ring.  No i'm not wearing my wedding band and yes ... i know it looks that way.  Like everything in my life, my rings also tell a story ... 2 hearts 1 promise.  On November 21, 2013 when i marry my best friend i will recieve his heart & the last piece to complete our promise. Family - Where life begins and love never ends

Yes the show must go on even if life throws you lemons (ie .. my back injury).  Thank you all from the bottom of both our hearts for all your love, help and support.  Our Hmong tshoob was amazing.  I don't know where i'd be without you all. Ahhhh! It's Jan 29th!!

OMG! It’s already January 29^th!  Our wedding will be here in no time.  So centerpiecing did not go as planned yesterday but I think I am getting close. That’s what I like telling myself so that I feel productive. I better get on it tonight!

Centerpiecing!

I’m centerpiecing it today.  Not sure where to start.  Pat can’t be bothered today as he seems to be quite tense.  Something he calls stress. Stress??  What is that?

For the first time since we’ve started this journey … I am completely and utterly stumped!  I can’t seem to decide if I want to go shabby chic or tres elegante?  What I do know is nothing is more annoying than trying to have a conversation with the person across from you through this big honking thing.  Yes been there … done that!

I need ... I need !!

I need answers!  I need confirmations!  I need .. I need a lot! Dealing with the resort wedding planner has been quite frustrating.    I cannot seem to get the answers when I want them and when I do receive a reply, which is days later they answer my question with another question!  Seriously!! This may be quite normal for Dominicans but for this crazy Canadian bride…. It will drive me to drink!  The only downfall is that all I’ll be drinking is water. LOL.  The diet has been going quite well.  Pat has lost 4 times the weight I’ve lost …and no I’m not a wee bit jealous at all!  I guess it normal for men to lose weight faster than woman .. so everyone says!  Regardless … I know he loves me either way!

-Wedding website has been designed

-Registry has been completed

-Wedding invites have been designed
